What exactly is a Kratzer tournament?
A Kratzer tournament, often played in darts, is a type of tournament in which players receive a "scratch" or mark whenever they lose a game. The scratch is recorded against the player's name. A player is eliminated from the tournament after receiving a certain number of scratches, usually after finishing last three times.
Here's how it works:
Objective: The aim of a Kratzer tournament is to avoid collecting scratches and stay in the competition for as long as possible.
Games: Matches are usually played in groups or rounds, with each participant competing against another player.
Scratches/Marks: The player who loses a match receives a scratch or mark.
Elimination: After accumulating a set number of scratches or marks, a player is eliminated from the tournament. This often happens after finishing last three times.
Variations: There are different ways to run a Kratzer tournament. Some formats use "winning scratches," allowing players with the most wins in a round to advance. Other tournaments use different numbers of scratches before elimination.
Where it's played: Kratzer tournaments are commonly held in darts leagues and local darts competitions, creating an exciting and competitive atmosphere for everyone involved.
